On Repeat: “Only You,” The Platters

When I was a child my parents would play all sorts of music. On weekend mornings they would pop in a cassette tape or blow the dust off their records. My dad had a particular fondness for the crooning music of the 50’s. This song is his go-to when karaoke-ing. He’ll belt out the beginning and get an immediate rise out of the audience as he puts on a show (It’s amazing how I turned out paralyzingly shy compared to his warm, outgoing nature). I love how sound, and senses in general, allow you to time travel.
