This is my best friend. We haven’t seen each other in three, maybe four, years and we live 3,000 miles apart. Except for a few tweets back and forth or comments on Instagram pictures, we’ve had little to no contact since we graduated together from high school. But she is the most amazing, selfless person I know and I still consider her my dearest friend.
You see, by day she teaches a pre-K & Kindergarten class and in her spare time she helps bring hope, love, and kindness to kids in Childrens’ Homes and on the streets of Honduras. Alright, I do her absolutely no justice. Just read her blog, Sin Queso, Sin Mantequilla. Side note, I totally had to Google Translate that. It means “no cheese, no butter.” That is, unless Google has decided to hoodwink me, and it wouldn’t be the first time.
Her stories of day-to-day life in Honduras are inspiring, heart-warming, and sarcastic. They will keep you thoroughly entertained — I read through her entire blog again this morning — and leave you feeling like you haven’t really accomplished much in your day — my homegirl practically saves lives on the daily.
So with that said I urge you to check out her blog. And maybe even navigate your mouse up to that little “Follow” button.
